I i By Telegraph.— Association.— London, March 10. ; A terrific explosion occurred to-day at Nobel's explosives works at Irvine, Ayrshire. The explosion originated in the shed used for the drying of guncotton. I Six men were killed and seven were seriously injured. Two of the c latter are in a critical condition. A dozen villages were shaken, while many churches and houses were damaged. SHOCK FELT FOR 20 MILES. 1 ] DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. \ (Received March 12, 12.50 a.m.) * London, March 11. The shock of the explosion at Nobel's factory was felt for a ( radius of 2° miles, and the sound . was heard throughout the whole of t Ayrshire. Windows rattled in Glasgow, and ( practically every window in Irvine j (half a mile away) was broken. ( The buildings rocked, ceilings fell, { and the school children were panic ( stricken. Horses bolted, and windows were broken. At Troon, many birds were killed. There were 2000 employees at the j factory, and heart-rending scenes , were witnessed as .their relatives , flocked there to learn the news. ] ========
