Btrsixisa on the Stock Exchange yesterday was again quiet In Standard stocks Bank of New Zealands were in demand at £11 ss, sellers not quoting.-- In Insuranoes New Zealands could have been placed at £5 Is, but sellers asked £5 3s. Nationals had buyers at 45s 3d. South British wero on offer at 78% but buyers did not advance beyond 75a 6d. Standards were wanted at 31s and sellers asked 328 6d. A sale in Tanpiri Coals . was reported at 23e 6d, with further buyers at 23a 3d. Auckland Gas were also reported as sold at 30s 6d ; closing sellers wanted 31s. Shipping lines were in demand. Buyers of Devon port Steam Ferry offered 36s 6d, and Northern Steams (paid-up) 15» 2d 4 whilst sellers held off. Wilsons Portland Cements (ordinary) ere wanted at 28s 6d, and Sellers held for 31s. t In mining 'lines Waihi Paeroas changed hands at 29s 9d with further offers of 295, ted sellers at 30s. Waihia were quoted .at, selleis 32a, buyers 31s 6d. The prices ol .buyers and sellers of Waihi Grand Junotions remained at 21a 'and 21s 3d respectively.
