OTAHUHU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
THE Otahuhu Borough Council met on Monday evening. Present: Messrs. A. Sturges (Mayor), J. Atkinson, J. Brady, H. J. Hall, S. J. Harbutt. E. C. Hayward, W. J. O'Hara, and J. Wilson.
At a joint, meeting of the Finance and Works Committees it was decided to recommend the council to carry out tar-spraying experiments by treating 12 chains of roadway in Station Road, at an estimated cost of £50; also, to tar tho footpath in Station Road from the station to Moa Street, at a. cost of £25, and that the work bo paid for out of loan. Some members of the council objected to the portion of road selected, and they also objected to tho work being paid for out of loan money. A iter much discussion the oommitee's recommendations were adopted. A long discussion took place on rho Mangere Bridpe question. After hearing a, statement by Mr. J. E. Taylor, the Mayor ?rd town clerk were appointed to confer with the Ellerslie and Mount Wellington Road Board!! on tho mater.
