ASSAULTING HIS WIFE.
BARBAROUS OFFENCES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson., Monday. The Supreme Court sessions opened today before His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman, there being two criminal cases for trial. Robert Alfred Schwass, charged with (1) attempting to murder his wife by cutting her throat, (2) wounding and doing her grievous bodily harm, (3) assaulting her so as to cause grievous bodily harm, was found guilty on ithe second and third counts. In sentencing accused to 10 years' imprisonment the judge said he had seldom known of more barbarous and cruel . offences,
