GAS AND A MATCH.
TRAGEDY IN AX HOTEL.
New York, February 15. A man named Bieler tried to commit suicide in his room at an hotel in Taeoma, Washington. He turned on the tap of the gas-burner and then got into bed. Edward Hanoi, the proprietor of the hotel, smelt the escape of gas, and was foolish enough to go looking for it with a lighted match. As ho opened the door of Bieler'a room thero was a terrific explosion. Every window in the building was: broken, and both men were knocked senseless, and were terribly burned. It is expected that Bieler will die.
