LIBELLER OF THE KING.

RELEASED IN AMERICA.

"SLAP AT ARISTOCRACY."

telegraph.—Press Association.— (Received February 20, 9.50 p.m.)

New Yoelc, February 20. E. F. Mylius, the man who has served a term of imprisonment for libelling King George (arid who was recently detained by the American authorities on his attempting to land in the United States), has been released by Judge Noyes on appeal. The judge declined to hold that criminal libel involved moral turpitude as contemplated in the immigration laws. He (the judge) desired it to be understood that he did not wish to minimise the offence of which Mylius was really guilty. Mylius declares that his release is a slap at the aristocracy of England and against all forms of monarchy.
