FIRE NEAR WHATAWHATA.
FARMHOUSE . BURNED. [PY TELEGRAPH.OWN ' CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Tuesday. The residence on Mr. E. C. Shepherd's {arm at Koromatua, near Whatawhata. was burned down at noon yesterdav, everything being lost except a few men's clothes and some blankets. The house was occupied by Mr. James Shepherd, who had two boys working for him, and was left about 11' a.m. with everything safe. ■ Upon returning for lunch it was discovered to be on fire, and only with difficulty could some clothes be saved from one room, the rest of the contents being destroyed. : : The insurance on the house, which contained six rooms, was £250 in the Norwich Union office, there being no insurance on the furniture.
