Mr. Clement L. Wragge. the well-known meteorologist, returned by the Victoria from a trip to Australia yesterday.

Mr. W. Willis, of London, who left Auckland a few weeks ago for the South, returned to Auckland yesterday morning.

Mr. B. Davis, who has been making a lmi" holiday lour, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Victoria, and is staying at the Star "Hotel.

Mr. D. V. Allen, director of the Zeehan School of Mines. Tasmania, arrived by Saturday's express from the South, and intends spending a holiday in Auckland.

Mr. A. H. Coates, who left Hamilton about four years ago, and has lived in Melbourne since, arrived yesterday by the Victoria from Sydney, to spend a holiday in Now Zealand.

Mr. Harold Beauchamp, acting-chairman of directors of the Bank of New Zealand, arrived from Wellington on Saturday morning with Mrs. Beauchamp. Ho is staying at tho Grand Hotel, and intends to spend a holiday at Waiwera.

Hon. J. A Millar, M.P. for Dunedin West, will spend the Christmas holidays in the Taupo district. His health has greatly improved lately, and he expects to be able to resume his seat in the House of Representatives next session.

Mr. George Nathan, of Wellington, Mr. P. A. Herman, of Christchurch, Messrs. J. and S. Bradlev-Smith, 11. do Lautour, and J. M. Ellis," of Cisborne, Mr. R. C. Banks, of I airlie, and Mr. W. G. Tait, of Invercargill, are among the visitors who arrived in Auckland during tho week-end.

The Minister of Customs (the Hon. F. M. IS. Fisher) will leave for Hastings by thi« evening's Main Trunk express train to play in the further scries of tennis matches with the English Davis Cup team. The Minister will" return to Auckland in his official capacity towards tho end of next month.

The Minister for Public Works, Hon. W. Frcser, will leave Wellington tomorrow for Auckland. He wil spend about a week in the, city and other parts of the province. The Minister for Railways, Hon. W. H. Hemes, is also expected to arrive in Auckland on Wednesday.

The marriage c-i Dr. Morehead Baxter, of Melbourne, and Miss Lilian Tanton, third daughter of Mrs. T.
