YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.
Fiftt girls representing tho different countries where tho Y.W.C.A. is at work formed the chief feature at tho garden warty given by Mrs. H. M. Smeeton on Saturday to the various girl members of the local Young Women's Christian Association. A prize- was offered for tho most- original representation tho cost of which did not exceed 2s 6d, and the judges, Mrs. Stone and Mrs. Bedford, had .no easy task in awarding tho prizes. Their choice finally rested on Miss Dinnoon, »s Now Zealand, first; Miss Bodle, as Australia, second; Miss "Wallace, as Wales, third. An original competition for which answers could be found from tho girls in costume was taken part in bv most of the 300 guests, and no less than three were successful in obtaining complete answers concerning the association activities mentioned among the questions. A girls' orchestra . added much to tho enjoyment of the party :' Afternoon tea was served from the summerhouse, and tho bright sunshine ensured a maximum enjoyment of the lovely garden and lawns. The thanks of the members were (accorded heartily, to Mrs. Smeeton.
