THAMES LICENSING BENCH.

Thames,- Friday. Tire quarterly sitting of. the Thames Licensing Bench took place to-day, Mr. T. W. Rhodes, M.P., presiding. There ■were no complaints, received from the police regarding the conduct of hotels, it being' reported as satisfactory, and that all the repairs and improvements arranged for at last meeting had been carried out. The renewal of the license to J. O'Brien, of the Central Hotel, Coromandel, which was adjourned at last meeting, pending certain necessary repairs, was' granted, the repairs having been carried out. Permission was granted to Mrs. Morrison, widow of the late- licensee (W. Morrison) of the Post Office Hotel, Thames, to carry on the license until the next quarterly meeting. The following transfers were granted :—Star and Garter Hotel, Coromandel, from W. White to D. D. MacKincol; McLean Hotel, Cabbage Bay, W. Horno to G. Archer; Tairua Hotel, J. Dykes to F. J. Tanker; Post Office Hotel, Noavesville, J. Shaw to F. Collins ; Whitianga Hotel, G. Howe to G. A. Hodge; Empire Hotel, Whitianga, R. Middlemas to J. Noble.
