The Auckland Rugby Union decided yesterday to acauiro Eden Park from the ; Auckland Cricket Association for a term ,of 21 years. The union intends erecting "a erandstand on the ground at a cost of * about £3000. and other improvement are to be carried out. A smaller stand for tfee use of cricketers will also be erected »by the Cricket Association. Patrons of rrieket will be allowed to use the big stand "in the cricket ecason, the union to receive 25 per cent, of the takings at cup matches and 15 per cent, of the takings at representative matches. Members of the committee are to meet the trustees of the onion on Wednesday next for the pur- .:! toso of devising ways and means or raw- ■ ing the money necessary to pay for the ■ grandstand. It is probable that the ground will be opened for football next season with a series of test matches between Wellington, Auckland, and Taranaki. Mr. D. D.
