CHILD'S DEATH IN RAILWAY CAMP.
INSANITARY CONDITIONS
ALLEGED.
[BY TELEGRAM!.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Maungatttroto. Wednesday. An eight-year-old boy, Arthur Crozier, died at tho railway construction works yesterday. As he had not been in receipt of medical attendance, an inquest was held, with the result that a verdict of death »' from influenza and tonsilitis was returned. During tho course of the inquiry some .■: strong allegations wero made about the ■ absence of sanitary arrangements, and of proper accommodation for children on the works. Tho general feeling here is that the construction camps are in a disgrace- •; fully insanitary state.
