SELF DENIAL WEEK.

The Auckland officers of the Salvation Army are well satisfied .with the generous response to the self-denial appeal. The largest amount collected was £712, by Adjutant Haywood and Major Toomer. This Sum included nineteen £10 donations, 43 at £5 ss, 17 at £3 3s, 55 at £2 2s, 103 at £1 Is, and the remainder in smaller subscriptions. Ensign Dettmann collected £14 7s, Captain Nicholson £30, Captain Mcßoberts £18 Bs, Sergeant Kelly £15 2s, and Mrs. Adjutant Haywood £11 10s. The sum of £100 was collected and given by members, and £39 15s in street-boxes. The Rescue Home, People's Palace, and Rotoma and Pakatoa Homes, contributed £18, £26, and £21 10s respectively. The total reached £1026.
