REDUCTION OF TARIFF. A BLOW AT THE TRUSTS. London, November 7. Mr. F. D. Aciand • (Parliamentary Under-Secretory for Foreign Affairs), in a speech at a Liberal meeting at Taunton, said that Mr. Woodrow Wilson's election as President of the United States was a victory for the reduction of tariffs. A message of "God-speed," he said, might well go to the new President in his task of reducing the tariff, which would bring the trusts to their proper position. Short of a revolution it was almost impossible, Mr. Aciand said, to disestablish the trusts. The only thing to do was to keep clear of them from the beginning.
