EGGS FOR VANCOUVER

A SUCCESSFUL SHIPMENT.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Saturday. Word has been received by Mr. J. B. Merrett from the Agricultural Department to the effect that a cablegram has been received from Vancouver advising that the shipment of eggs sent forward from New Zealand in September realised Is 6d per dozer.'. The price is a remarkably high one for the time of year, and it is expected that- eggs •will reach 3s per dozen during December. It is not anticipated that further shipments will be made this season, owing to the inability to secure space in Vancouver steamers. The eggs arrived in excellent condition, and merchants at Vancouver are- asking for larger shipments to bo made, both of eggs and poultry.
