Tbb forfDlghtly meeting ,of the Newmarket Borough Council was held last night. The Mayor (Jin Teed;) presided, and Messrs. W. J. Meara, W. Fookes, 0. Leek, Jas. McColl, W. J. Jaffray, and A. Scceotnbe were also present. - . . 'v Letters were read from the Mount Eden, Grey Lynn, Onohunga, and Mount Albert Borough Councils, and the One-tree Kill and Epsom Koad Boards, supporting the Newmarket borough's petition for the stoppage of the express at the Newmarket station. Mr. 0. Bonayne,, general manager of th* New Zealand railways, however, wrote stating that, having considered tho reqw«t, f he was uniDlo to <omply with it. 11 wna decided, to write to the members representing the district Sin the House of Representatives, requesting them to further'the matter, if possible. ••'■-.
