ANXIETY IN TAURANtiA.
[BY TELECiRAI'U.— CORKE-SrOXDENT.] Tatteanca, Tuesday. The absence of any mention whatever of the Tauranga railway bridge in the Public Works Statement lias caused profound surprise, especially in the light of the fact that every indication led to its being looked on as assured. At a meeting held last evening the tollowiug resolution was carried unanimously : —
" That this meeting of the Tauranga Railway League. Borough Council, Chamber of Commerce, and of the public of Tauranga, expresses its strong disapproval 'of the manner in ■which the amount available for the liaat Coast Main Trunk railway has been allocated. It now emphatically asks the Government to place on the Supplementary Estimates a sum of not less than £20,000 to enable reasonable progress to be made in carrying the line across Tauranga Harbour towards Waihi, on the section authorised by the last Parliament." Copies of the resolution have been sent to the Prime Minister, to the Minister for Publia Works, and to the Hon. W. H. Hemes, the member for Tauranga,
