NORTH SHORE CLUBThe North Shore Rowing Club will open the season on Saturday with a procession of boats. Every available boat Trill be pressed into service. Entries for trial fours to bo rowed 011 November 2, will be received on Saturday- For the convenience of newmembers; the shed will be open night and morning, and a member of the committee will always bo in attendance. • WEST END CLUB. The entries for the trial fours to bo rowed on Saturday week close this evening. Quite a large number of members have signified their intention of training for regattas this season, and when a few more come forward teams will be selected. At. the present time it, looks as if the club will l>o represented in every class of race at the forthcoming regattas. The club does not possess a convertible double sculler suitable for racing at present, and it is proposed to inaugurate a fund for the purpose of purchasing one. AUCKLAND CLUB. Mr. Frank S- Gardner, a life member, and the club's popular concert organiser, who is now in the Old Country, has written to the secretary forwarding a. fine set of medals, purchased 'by him on the Continent for competition amongst the club members. The medals, which will bo called the Gardner modals, will bo competed for bytrial fours, and the committee havo decided to put these races on early in the New Year. The club is again most fortunate in having such liberal patrons, who havo again offered numerous trophies for competition Having such a largo number of trophies to compete for, the committee at a very early dato will publish a list of their fixtures for the season. Very good entries are already being received for the opening trial fours to.be held on November 2, and from pre! sr " ,P rospccts a record number of crews will be competing.
