It is interesting to note in connection with the launching 'of the Iniperator. • for■ the HamburgAmerican Line recently, that the origin of that great, steamship company dates, back to the spring of 1847, when a .number of Hamburg merchants met to discuss ways and means for establishing a . regular line of ships between-America and' Europe.
