THE MANAWATU MEETING, BARRAUD WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. [BT TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION".] Palmerstost North, Thursday. The Manawatu Golf Club championship meeting, which has been largely attended by outside golfers, concluded to-day. The heavy rain which fell during the night cleared off in time to start, and the sandy course had not suffered. In tho championship semi-finals, Imlay Saunders (Wang&nni), playing a very line game, beat Kapi Tarena (Ilawke's Bay) bj 5 up and 4 to play, effecting a surprise, The two local men, Druco and Barraud, nad to go to the 21st hole beforo Barrattd won. The final gome in the afternoon provided a splendid game. Both went out in 37 and came homo in 42, Barraud beating Saunders by 1 up. Barraud once beforo won thie championship, and is tho local club champion. D. K. Hurray (Hawko's Bay), 8, won the Bogey Handicap, 2 up; E. G. Sim, 7, all square, was second. Slack brothers won tho Four-ball Handicap, 76—14—62.
