ARRESTED IN MELBOURNE.
A cablegram was received from Melbourne by the Auckland police yesterday, stating that a. man named George Lay ton had been arrested there at the instance of the' Auckland Charitable Aid Board, and charged with failing to provide his wife and three children (now in Auckland) with adequate means of support. Constable Power left last night for the Bluff, en route for Melbourne, to bring Layton back to answer to the charge.
