WELLINGTON FISH MARKET.
Very fair progress lias been made with tho municipal fish market, on Jervois Quay, Wellington, alongside the harbour breastwork. It is not a largo building at all, and at present there* does not appear to bo any definite idea, ft* to what exact- uso itwill bo put, or how the fish will bs sold by producer to consumer. In reply to a question on this point, the Mayor (Mr. D. McLaren) said the authorities had not yet decided on what method to employ. The Council might appoint a special officer to sell tho fish on behalf of tho fishermen, cr stands might bo let for retail Bales by the representatives of the fishermen. The mutter would require careful consideration by tho Council.
