A COLD JULY.
Tin: weather during tho month which ended on Wednesday, was much colder than is usually experienced in Auckland in July. The average temperature for the month, compiled from statistics taken for a period of over 44 years, is 52.3 degrees, but tho mean temperature for July, 1012, was only 50.4 degrees. In July, 1911, tho mean temperature was 51.3 degrees, in 1010 52.2 degrees, and in 1909 53.8 degrees, so that the month was tho coldest for four years. In 1903 the average- temperature for tho month was 49.8 degrees the coldest for many years. Yesterday, the fust day of August, the temperature was much lower than usual.
