AN IMMIGRATION BUREAU.
OVERSEAS CLUB'S SCHEME. The Auckland branch of the Overseas Club has prepared a petition to tho Government asking for a subsidy to assist tho club to establish an immigration bureau in Auckland. The scheme in view is to set op an offico where all kinds of information likely to bo useful to immigrants may bo obtained, and to have agents to meet incoming steamers. The petition was handed over to Mrs. J. G. Culpan, a member of the council of tho Auckland branch of the club, and sho left by last night's express to present it to Parliament.
