j NOTES AND COMMENTS. j The sale is reported of ihe well-known 152-foot- mullet-boat Hetty, owned lately by | Mr. J. Torrens, to Mr. Gardiner. The I Hetty was built at Devonport for Mr. C. i Burke, and has raced in all local clubs and I regattas. Mr.' Torre is bavins; a launch I built by Messrs. Harvey ana Long, to bo ! fitted with a 5-h.p. Regal engine. ! The 14-foot open-boats Keeps and Ik&rere ; wero hauled up and taken to Mr. X. J. Inidis's residence on Tuesday afternoon. Both boats will receive a thorough overhaul before being launched. Messrs. Coiling? and Bell, of St. Mary's Beach, Ponsonby, report business as fairly brisk. Ail their space is full with yachts and launches hauled up for the winter. They have just completed and have ready for tho engines a 36ffc launch, 6ft 6in beam, ■ and 2ft in draught, for Mr. J. Pegley, to bo fitted with a Tj-h.p. Stanley engine. They have a 20ft launch, sft bin beam, and Ift l( ,-€in draught, for Mr. D. Bell, of Auckland, to bo fitted with a 5-h.p. Perfection engine, to be ready in August also a 32ft launch, ! Eft 3in beam, and Eft 6in draught, to *be i fitted with a 15-h.p. three cylinder Donian j engine, for Mr. H. B. Fischer. They have j other orders in for different parts of the I Dominion. Messrs. T. M. Lane and Son. King's : Drive, have in hand a launch 25ft overall I and 6ft beam for Sir. F. Boss, of Lake Waij kare, to be fitted with a 4-h.p. Colinial en- ; gine. This craft may be described as an j open river launch. ■ The firm is fitting a ?-h.p. single cylinder ; heavy duty Scrisps engine into the 26ft : mullet-boat Cloud, owned by Mr. C. E. ] Chamberlain, of Ponui Island, and have j i made a start on a cruising launch, 35ft ! overall, Sft team, and 2ft 3in draught, to !be fitted with an 18-h.p. four cylinder j Scripps engine for a local launch man, I i i RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. i The annual distribution of prizes in con- S j section with the Richmond Cruising Club j i was held in Munro's Social Hals.
