Upon inquirv last night the. condition of Air. H. Shaw was reported .to show improvement. At last night's meeting of the City Council a vote of sympathy with •Mr. Shaw was passed by his colleagues.

Messrs. J. C. Gleesmi and R. T. Michaels have been appointed the Auckland Citv Council's delegates to Me Municipal" Conference, which openstin Wellington on Monday next, instead of the Mayor (Mr. C. J. Parr) and Mr. A. J. Entrican, who are unable to attend.
