The conspirators declare that they were foiled at every step owing to the presence of police. Arabi, the ringleader, states that he was waiting at the railway station to shoot Lord Kitchener, but the strict supervision suggested that his intentions were known, and he was thwarted. Some of the letters emanated from Hassan Camel, brother of the late founder of the Al Lewa Nationalist .. newspaper. Hassan was arrested. Subsequently two of the men who were first arrested were released These men whose names are Mahmudranizi and Abdullahma Sabahi, have given evidence against Makid, one of the chief conspirators.
