LIQUOR FOR YOUTHS.

A LICENSEE CHARGED

fBY TELEGRAPHPRESS ASSOCIATION. Dannevirke, Thursday. The magistrate, Mr. S. E. McCarthy, war, occupied to-day hearing the charges against Henry Baker, the licensee of the Club Hotel, of allowing youths under 21 years to be supplied with liquor for consumption on the premises. Colin Douglas, Henry Baker (his eon) and Annie Baker (wife of the licensee) were charged with supplying tlio liquor to the youths. Tho youths, it was alleged, purchased some whisky and drank it in a private room. Tho licensee said that ho turned them out when he learned that youths under age were on the premises. Tho other defendants did not remember serving them. Decision was- reserved.
