'l"he Wellington radio station advised last night that the steamers Ulimaroa (Bluff to Hobart), Maungantil (Sydney to Wellington), Warrimoo (Bluff to Duncd'in), Victoria (Auckland to Sydney), and Wimniera (Sydney to Auckland) were within wireless communication. The steamer Eden completed taking on board 200 tons of bunker coal yesterday afternoon, and was to have railed at 4 p.m. "to continue the search for the dredge Manchester, but, owing to the unsettled state of the weather, her departure was postponed until early this morning. The Wairnate is due at Auckland this evening from St. John (Canada), via Melbourne and Sydney. After discharging 700 tons of cargo here, the Waimate goes to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to put out. the balance. She will then go on the loading berth for London, and will complete her loading at Auckland. She is to sail finally from here for the Home port about June 25. While, the Ptikaki was going down tho Victoria channel, Duncdin, last Wednesday morning, en route to Greymouth direct, a pin dropped out of her steam steering gear, and before her way could be stopped she headed for the right-hand side of the channel and remained there hard and fast. She grounded almost at high tide, with her forepeak over the half-tide wall and her stern just clear of the main channel. The Pukaki remained there all dav, and about 7 p.m. the tugs made fast to her, and shortly afterwards she was floated off ax the tide rose. She then proceeded to Port Chalmers. WIMMERA DUE THIS MORNING. According to wireless messages received from the steamer Wimmera, the vessel will reach Auckland at 8 am. to-day from Sydney direct. She will berth at the new Queen-street Wharf on arrival, where medical inspection will Iks carried out. The Wimmera's departure for East Coast and Southern ports has been postponed till 3 p.m. to-morrow. JESSIE CRAIG FROM NEWCASTLE. Shortlv after 5 a.m. yesterday the barque Jessie Craig arrived at Auckland from Newcastle after a passage of 18 days. She berthed at the Railwav Wharf to discharge her cargo of coal, coke, and bonedust-. Captain Nagle reports that departure was taken from the New South Wales coal port on Mav 0, the vessel meeting with moderate south-east end east-south-east winds throughout the passage to arrival. On completion Of discharge the Jessie Craig proceeds to Whangarei to load timber for Sydney. MAIUORIE CRAIG FROM WARRNAMBOOL. In the early hours of yesterday morning the well-known torque Marjorie Craig arrived in the stream at Auckland from Warrnambool after a. passage of 15 davs. The vessel brought a full cargo of flour, and berthed at No. 2 Jetty to discharge. Tho chief officer reports that the Marjorie Craig left the Victorian port on May 12, and passed Wilson's Promontory a day later. A strong south-west gale was encountered till clearing the Bass Straits, and thence moderate southcast winds till making tho New Zealand coast. On the run down the coast light, head winds and calms were met with to arrival. After discharge the vessel goes to Hokianga to load timber for Melbourne. STEWART ISLAND WRECKAGE. Reports from Stewart Island state that a quantity of wreckage has been washed up on the south-western portion, of the island. Mr. Harry Roderique, of Stewart Wand, informed the Bluff correspondent of the Dunedin Star that he picked up several pieces near South Cape, These include a double cabin bunk made of <rhite Baltic pine, with metal fittings, and also part of a cabin wall, with coat-hoor., etc. There was nothing to show whence the wreckage came, but it appeared to have been in the water only about three or four months. Mr. Roderiqne thought that it might have been caught in the Tasman Sea current and washed up bv the south drift current. He expressed the opinion that it might be from the foundered s.s. Yongala, but the chances are ! more. In favour of it* being from the. missing barquentiae Marv Isabel. In the absence of there having been a wreck, there appears to have been a collision, and the washing up of further wreckage will be awaited with interest. UNION COMPANY CHANGES. Mr. J. McKennle, late of the Kanna, who came across from Svdney as fourth officer of the Tahiti, has joined the Manuka as second officer, vice Mr. Breen, who is now acting-chief of ■ the vessel. Mr. 0. Baird, fifth engineer of the Manuka, has joined the Moana as fourth. Mr. Mathieson has been promoted from sixth ' engineer to fifth engineer of the Manuka, and- Mr. R. Black has signed on as sixth. .
