STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE ON SATURDAY
As is usual with week' end business, Saturday's transactions on the Stock Exchange were not heavy, and prices were ■sasy. Standard stocks' were neglected, except for a sale in Union Steams, which TOre ' transferred at 47s 6d, which shows a drop of 8s 6d per share over the price at which shares were sold on Wednesday last. Closing quotations stood at 48s for sellers, and 47s 3d buyers. All other stocks were steady at recent figures. A few sales were recorded in mines. Talismans sold at 44s 6d, with more for sale at this figure, 44s 3d being the best price offered by buyers. Waihis -were disposed of at 40a 3d, prices closing about even at 40a 6d and 40s for seller and buyer respectively. Waihi Grand Junctions were done at 25a 9d, closing with sellers at this figure, buyers standing firm at 25s 6d. As a result of a wire concerning a further haul of picked stone received on Friday afternoon, Occidentals were bought at Is sd, up to about 3000 in number, and further parcels were bought at Is 4d.
