' On Saturday evening a large and' representa- ;..- five meeting was hold in the Ohinewai school, at which, in addition to local residents, there were present: Mr. \V. H. Hazard (.president), Messrs. iStayioltf, Noakes, Brigliam; and Phillipson (members of council),- reprinting the. Auck- ■ land Acclimatisation Society, together ■'. -with the president, .and committee of the Huittly Rod and Gun Club. ■-■>■, ' . Mr. J. S. Johnston, -who presided, .after having brie-fly outlined the object of the ' meeting, called , upon Mr. Hazard, who ■ ■.-: gave an excellent and interesting resume of .the past history o£. the work of the Auckland Society, and explained how their new rules' affected the country clubs anrliated. to the parent body.
