THE GOVERNOR.

His Excellency the Governor (Lord Islington) had intended going for a yachting cruise on the harbour yesterday, but owing to the state of the weather the idea was abandoned. Ilia Excellency will remain in Auckland until Sunday, when he will .'cave by the Main Trunk express for the purpose of inspecting the territorial camp near Marlon. On the 13th instant Lord Islington will perform the ceremony of ooening a ward at the children's hospital at Wellington. He will then return and take up his residence for some weeks in Auckland. At the Y.M.C.A. rooms this, afternoon Lady Islington will present tho medals won by the girl scouts at the temperance exhibition competitions, held last year.
