The Postmaster-General (Mr. L. P. Pelletier) has announced in the House of Commons that the British authorities have refused, to co-oper-ate in a State-owned cable to Canada. The Dominion is unable to itself establish the cable owing to the excessive cost and the large demands on the Treasury at present for home development. Mr. Pelletier added that he hoped that a new British company would control the Atlantic service. ..
