Mzlbouiinh, March 2. The Victoria Racing Club's Autumnu Meeting was inaugurated at Flemington to-day in fine weather. There was & large attendance, which included tho Governor-General (Lord Denman)and the State Governor (Sir John Fuller) and their respective suites.

Trafalgar . again asserted his superiority over Comedy King, and there was an outburst of enthusiasm as the son of Wallace led the field home. Popinjay waa the first to break the line, Flaith, Queen o' Scots, Captain White, Borrosov, and Almissa being his closest attendants. After a, furlong had been traversed Queen o' Scots appeared to have a good lead, Takipona, Flaith, Desert Rose, Captain White, and Obsono being most prominent of the others. Obsono had the advantage at the. distance, with Captain White, Popinjay, Desert Rose, and Mountain Princess in line.- Desire dashed up next the rails, and, securing the lead, he came on and won by a length.
