Mr. Littlejohn, M.A., of Timaru,. has i been appointed extra-assistant- master at Waitaki High School, and Mr. A. K. Anderson (Mataura) has been appointed preparatory master. Mr. W. G. Stevens, son of Captain W. Stevens, R.M.S. Aorangi, is ono of the New Zealand cadets now leaving to enter the Royal Military College, Now South Wales. , . Constable L. Waiters, who has been a prominent figure on the waterfront as a member of the Auckland water.police for about three years, has been transferred to Palmoraton North. He left by the Main Trunk express last night to take up his new duties. Archdeacon Calder has sent a telegram to the Primate of New Zealand congratulating him on the nomination of the Rev. K. J. Wood for the Bishopric of Melanesia, and expressing the hope that the consecration service will be held in Auckland, as was done when Bishop Wilson was consecrated. Mr. H. Scott Bennett, until recently a socialist lecturer in Auckland, and former Labour member for Ballarat West in the Victorian Parliament, left Sydney for England bv tha Orsova last week. After visiting England he will travel through America on a lecturing tour under the auspices of the American Socialist party. Mr. Bonis H. Neumegen. who for the past 25 year 3 has hold the position of treasurer in" Lodge United Service, No. 10, Auckland, was the recipient of a presets*lion at the meeting of tho lodgo held on Wednesday evening. A large'number of the brethren, including the masters and officers; of four city lodges and about 50 past masters, were in attendance.
