The native Waiomio, who was admitted to the Whangarei Hospital on Wednesday last suffering from injuries sustained while working timber near Hukerenui, succumbed, and an inquest was held to-day before Mr. J. M. Killen, district Coroner, sitting without a jury, that he saw the native jacking logs, and A boy named William Wilson stated one log rolled back and crushed him . Dr. Frasar Hurst, medical superintendent of the Whangarei Hospital, said that the cause of death was injuries to the head and hemorrhage.
