HUSBAND'S DOUBLE CRIME
KILLS HIS WIFE AND A MAN.
Dv Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. San Francisco, February 27. A double murder is reported from Tacoma, where the bodies of Mrs. Brown and a man named John Aldern were found on a roadside near the city, having apparently been battered to death with a club. Mrs. Brown's husband has been arrested and charged with the crime. He confessed to being guilty to murder in the second degree. Accused added that he quarrelled with his wife, and subsequently lay in wait for her and Aldern. When they came along the road he struck them down with a club. His wife, who was not seriously injured by the first blow, rose and ran off, but he pursued her, killing her with a severe blow on the head, which smashed her skull.
