MEXICO REVOLT SPREADS
TOWN OF JAUREZ OCCUPIED.
FOREIGNERS THREATENED. r By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Mexico City, Feb iary 27. The town of Jaurez is threatened by rebels under Campa. the revolutionary general, who is, advancing upon it. Campa declares that if he is opposed he will take the lives of foreigners. Much alarm prevails. (Received 'February 28. .11 p.m.) New York, February 23. Advices from El Paso (Texas) state that Sasquita rebels have occupied Jaurez, unopposed. They now intend advancing to capture Chihuahua. « The spread of the revolt is alarming the Mexican Government. FIGHT WITH TEXAN COWBOYS. | MEXICANS ATTACK A RANCH. Mexico City, February 27. At Marfa, Texas, a band of Mexican insurgents surrounded the Nelson Morris ranch, opposite Sierra Blanca, and fought a band of American cowboys for 12 hours. The insurgents sought to capture the ranch, but the cowboys defended it, several being killed on both sides. An appeal was sent to a neighbouring ranch, and a party of Americans have started out to relieve their compatriots. (Received February 28. 11 p.m.) Mexico City, February 28. The Mexicans who attacked the Nelson Morris ranch were driven off. The American rescue party, learning this, did not invade Mexican territory, as they had intended to do.
