REVOLVER IN COMMONS.

BULLET FINDS NO BILLET,

A man seated in the central hall of the House of Commons during the debate to-day suddenly drew a revolver and fired it at a group of members, fortunately without hitting anyone. He was immediately seized, and was prevented from again using the weapon, which was found to be fully loaded with ball cartridge. The prisoner, who is obviously insane, said that his reason for firing his revolver was that the Government was suppressing Count Leo Tolstoi's teaching on the Messiah. NO SHOT IN COMMONS -FOR 100 YEARS. (Received February 28, 12,10 a.m.) London, February 27. The man who fired the revolver states that he is a licensed preacher named Henry, and that he came to tie House of Commons to see Mr. Asquith. The last time a firearm was discharged in the House of Commons was on May 11, 18152, when John Bellingham shot and killed Mr. Spencer Perceval, Prime Minister, a crime for which Bellingham was executed.
