Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Orient Line's Orvleto v wiU leave Sydney for London on February 28 in place of the Otway. .J ■, WAIMANA DUE to-day. ; An expected arrival at Auckland this morning is the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's new liner Waimana, from Liverpool and Australian, porta. The vessel is making her first visit to New Zealand waters, and on arrival will berth at the Railway Wharf, where she will discharge 3600 tons of general cargo. The Waimana will subsequently visit Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, WIMMERA ARRIVES. At 10 a.m. yesterday the Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmera arrived from Southern ports, after a fine weather, passage. The purser reports that departure was taken from Dunedin at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday last, the usual calls being made at East Ooast ports en route. She left Gisborne at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and made the ran to Auckland from that port in thesmart time of 21 hours, which includes a stop of half an hour to disembark and pick up passengers at Tokomaru Bay. The average speed maintained was 15 knot*. In continuation of her running, the Wimmera sails at 5.30 p_m. to-day for Sydney direct. SYDNEY STEAMER ARRIVES LATE. A late arrival at Auckland last night was the Huddart-Parker steamer Victoria, from Sydney direct, after a very alow passage of four days tire hours. She berthed at the new Queen-street Wharf shortly after 11 o'clock, but owing to the lateness of the hour medical inspection will not be carried out until 7 a.m. to-day. The purser , reports that departure was taken from Sydney at 4 p.m. on Wednesday last, fine weather feeing experienced throughout, so that no explanation is given as to the cause of the vessel's lengthy passage.
