Union ComrHUiv'B turbine steamer Maheno arrived at Auckland from Sydney direct, berthing at the *•• Queen-street Wharf. Leaving the New South Wales port at 1 p.m. on Wednesday last, the Maheno encountered a fresh southerly gale, with high boom seas, until Friday, when the gi>le m moderated, and the wind hauled to tho north. ,~ • Light variable winds and smooth seas were then '.Z,' experienced to arrival. Tho Three Kings were .„ abeam at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Cape Maria Van iigl Dicmen being passed at 9 o'clock tire same evening. The Maheno sails on. the return voyage to Sydney at 10 p.m. to-day. THE SCALES LINE. The Scales liner Clan Ogilvy arrived at Fremanllo last Tuesday afternoon from Newcastle. After discharge of her cargo of coal the vessel proceeds to Bunbury to load jarrah timber for New Zealand ports. Cable advice has been received that the en« steamer Clan Ross arrived at London last Wednesday from Picton. The vessel left Picton on November 16. Tho steamer Clan Maclaren is expected at Auckland from Timaru early this week. On compleget tion of discharge of her cargo of jarrah timber from Bunbury, the Clan Maclaren will load wool and general cargo for Loudon, proceeding thenoe to Wellington to complete.
