At the Ball at band contests St. Augustine's Orphanage boys won the "A'* grade competition and the Australasian championship. A remarkable feature is that the average age of the winners is 14,, the youngest being II and the oldest 21., The Rozelle Band (Sydney) came second. A SELF-DENYING ORDINANCE. Perth, October 30. It is stated that one of the first acts o| the new West Australian- Ministers will be to reduce their salaries, the Premier to £1200 and his colleagues to £1000 each.
