The Empire essay prizewinners include: Master Peacock, Auckland; Ella Maher, Piako Muriel Mountier, Katikati; Mary O'Carrol, Ashburton Rosa Innes, Marlborough Master Edwards, Lismore, New South Wales ; Myrtle Lee, Ballarat, Victoria; Elsie Underhill, Rockhampton, . Queensland.
