MINING NEWS.
OLD HAURAKI.
In the Old Hauraki mine, Coromandel, the seaward face at the 400 ft level is in 515 ft from the main rise. The reef continues about 3ft in width. Last weak the north face was advanced 6ft; total, 54ft. Two stopes are in progress at No. 1 block, from which 201bs'of picked stone were obtained last week. At No. 2 block three stopes are in progress, the back slope being close to where gold was obtained. At No. 3 block, one stops is being worked, and pieces of picked stone are still obtained, the reef being up to 6in in width. WAIOTAHI. Th manager of the Waiofeahi mine reports for the week that tho No. 7 level crosscut .lis being continued and is in a distance of 142 ft from tho chamber.
