WATER POWER.
LAKE COLERIDGE SCHEME.
Latest reports regarding the operations at Lake Coleridge in connection with the hydro-electrical installation, upon which the Public Works Department is engaged, indicate that a start has been made to sink a- shaft on the tunnel line preparatory to putting in the head works. The necessary road-making is nearly completed, and the construction is in hand of a service road from one end of the tunnel to the other, the length of road being about one mile ond a-half. So'soon as the shaft is down work on the tunnel will be begun.
