S war brick) in connection with the Waipa Colliery Company. The solicitor stated that nothing had been heard from the-company since Jast meetly ; ing, but he ...understood the company '" were relying on an amendment to the • r Public Works Act, which would enable /: ■ them to- deal with the Ngaruawahia Town Board instead of with the Council, apparently with the object of securing an agree- - \ ment which would release the company - - from provisions which he had insisted ; were absolutely in the public interest. ,> .Messrs.
