It is reported that a natural enemy -J to aphis has been discovered in the Bathursfc orchards, in the shape of a small parasatical fly. Efforts to exterminate r the : blight by means- of sprayings etc., 'have* • proved tor the most part • futile;-* but : the American, ladybirds- which havef been .liberated in different parts of the Dominion' are reported to have ' done good work, ft' Good lift service ' was also rendered some years ago y by the ladybirds in - the extermination-: of the : wattle blight. The reported discovery of - the ■ additional•; natural:; enemy 'will =; b< hailed with delight -by fruitgrowers.
