BOWLING.
TE AWAMUTU CLUB. 1 [from our own correspondent.] Tho annual meeting of tho Bowling Club j took place in tho Library Buildings on Mon- : day evening last. There was a very good attendance of members. Tho annual report stated that the new greens on Victoria Park recently made by the Puniu Domain Board wore better than was expected, the testing of them proving most satisfactory. The year closed with a credit balance of £37. Special reference was made to the commendable action of the Domain Board in having provided Te'Awamutu with a sports ground second to none in the Waikato, containing as it does two bowling greens, croquet lawn, six tennis courts, and a good running track. Mention was made of the good work done by Mr. G. H. White on the new greens as acting-green superintendent since Mr. Bryant's departure, and also to Mr. Edgecumbe for all he had done for the game since its inception: Thanks were expressed to the donors- of trophies—Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co., E. Miller, and J. Jackson. Reference was made to the club's late patron, Mr. Jas. Cottroll, who had remembered the club to tho extent •of £15 amongst his numerous bequests. The official opening of the now greens will take place after the erection of the pavilion and band rotunda, when an At Home " will be held. Tho incoming committee wore authorised to complete the water supply at a cost of £100. The following' officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. Wm. Taylor; president, Mr. H. F. Edgecumbe; vicepresidents, Drs. A. W. Pairman; J. Reekie and A. Henderson, Messrs. R. Brown, W. Von Stunner, F. McGovern, J. Jackson, H. Irvine, W. G. Park, E. Miller, J. A. Young, H. J. Greenslade, and Colonel Allen Bell; secretary, Mr. W. F. Stewart; treasurer, Mr. Von Sturmer; green superintendents, Messrs. 1 G. H. White and P. Clements, senr.; committee, the Rev. Woollass, Messrs. M. Laurie, A. S. Wallace, P. i Clements, jun., and H. J. Jones.
KARANGAHAKE CLUB. [B* TELEGRAM.OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Karanßtahako Bowling Club was held in the Public Hall recently. A satisfactory state of affairs was disclosed by the report and balance-sheet. Officers for the ensuing year -were elected sas under: Patron, Mr. John McCombie; president, Mr. R. R. Lloyd; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. Waddell, Turnbull, Kitching, and Kemp; hon. secretary, Mr. John Henderson assistant-secretary, Mr. H. W. Guthrie auditor,* Mr. John Redpath; committee. Messrs. L. Hilton, S. Christie, A. Hill, l*. Morrison, J. Dobson, C. Lloyd, and F. Marsh; delegates^to A.P.8.A., Mr. H. Cordes Green; superintendent, Mr. E. Jury; selector, Mr. E. Jury; delegate to Goldfield Stars Executive, Mr. Deane. Fourteen new members were elected, and the subscription fee was fixed at two guineas per annum.
