LABOUR DAY SPORTS. RECORD ENTRIES. Estrirs received for the Labour Bay sport*, to bo held at the Domain , Cricket Ground on Monday, October 23, have exceeded; all expectations. For 14 events 1342 entries have been received or an average of '25 fox each event, which is re- ; garded as* extremely satisfactory. Besides this, i there are 12 post entry events. Excursion railway tickets are to be issued, and the fact that the i sports are being held on & Monday this year should be' the means of a large number of country competitors and visitors staying in town over the week end. With £300 being offered in prises and , a record number of entries, the sports this year should easily ■ be the ; most successful ; ever Held in Auckland.
