GIFT FOR KING GEORGE.
A NAVAL SCHOLARSHIP.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION*.] Wellington, Saturday. His Excellency the Governor has received from the secretary of the George Fund an acknowledgement of the sum of £70 collected in New Zealand. The Governor is informed that a total of .£3400 has been collected throughout the Empire, and it is proposed to present His Majesty with a badge of St. George out of this sum, and invest the remainder to provide a scholarship for boys going into the navy.
